Step-by-Step Guide

How to calculate working days step by step: 1. Choose the period: enter the start and end date, e.g. 01.01.2026 to 31.12.2026. 2. Specify the Bundesland: the number of public holidays varies considerably. Bayern: 12-13 public holidays (including Assumption Day and the Augsburg Peace Festival). Bremen, Hamburg: only 9 public holidays. 3. Count the weekdays: the calculator counts all Mondays through Fridays in the period. 4. Deduct public holidays: statutory public holidays that fall on a weekday are deducted. 5. Optionally deduct vacation: contractual vacation days can be deducted in addition. 6.
