Grundlage: Bundeselterngeld- und Elternzeitgesetz (BEEG). Jeder Elternteil hat Anspruch auf bis zu 36 Monate Elternzeit. Bis zu 24 Monate können zwischen dem 3. und 8. Geburtstag genommen werden. Der Arbeitgeber muss spätestens 7 Wochen (vor dem 3. Geburtstag) bzw. 13 Wochen (ab dem 3. Geburtstag) vor Beginn schriftlich informiert werden.
