How to calculate vacation entitlement during parental leave step by step: 1. Enter the annual vacation entitlement: contractual annual leave, e.g. 30 days for a 5-day week. 2. Enter the duration of parental leave: start and end date of the parental leave. Only full calendar months are taken into account for the reduction. 3. Calculate the reduction: for each full month of parental leave, the employer may reduce the annual leave by 1/12 (Paragraph 17 Abs. 1 BEEG). The reduction is a right, not an obligation, of the employer. 4. Determine the remaining entitlement: annual leave minus reduction. 5.
